Weak and Strong

Water is amazing. It’s so weak that my youngest daughter can splash it into pieces with her little finger. Yet strong enough that it can support an ambulance driving across ice on a lake.

I think I'm learning that we're like that. Weak AND strong. We can be strong for a while, but is it that?

  1. a) we can stay strong; or
  2. b) we are inspired/empowered to be strong, then will become weak before (hopefully!) becoming strong again?

Which option do the following verses support?

Hebrews 12:1, "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us."

Ephesians 5:3-6, "not even a hint of sexually immorality"..."No immoral person has any inheritance in the kingdom"...."God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient."
