Signs Team

Purpose:  To promote Promise Keepers and the Event through the medium of signage. We have found that this is the most powerful and impacting way of drawing the Event to the attention of the community and particularly to men who are likely to attend.
Commitment Level:
Pre-Event:  4-6 weeks out from the Event -
as much time as you can give us
                  (daytime/evenings)
Post Event: Sun/Mon/Tues etc - as much time
                  as you can give us
Responsibilities:
Pre-Event: Help put up signs all around
                 your area/city in pre-arranged
                 sites & new (with permission)
Post-Event: Help remove all signs
                  before the Wednesday
Reports to:
PK Head Office or Area Event Co-ordinator
Works closely with:
Area Event Co-ordinator

Responsibilities pre-Event:
1. Contact Promise Keepers Head Office or your local Area Co-ordinator for a list of sites in your area/city where we have received permission to put signs up.
2. Ensure you have sufficient signs in various sizes, date changeouts and stakes.
4-6 weeks before the Event, commence your signs “blitz” and put up all signs. If you are able to recruit others to help you, so much the better. An instruction guide for putting up the signs is available from Head Office.
3. It is very important to keep clear records of where signs are placed. Please report back to your local Area Co-ordinator on a regular basis, so they can keep up to date on your progress. Also, accurate record-keeping ensures all signs can be removed in a timely manner, sign hosts can be thanked, and a database of sites can be built up for future Events.
4. Identify new sites. Many people who live near prominent intersections are prepared to host our signs if they are asked. We can give brochures to these people if they do not know anything about Promise Keepers or the Event, or for people who enquire about it.

Responsibilities post-Event:
1. Commit to take down all of the signs you put up in your city/area as soon as possible after the Event, and by the following Wednesday at the latest.

There are different sized signs for different locations as follows:
2400mm x 1200mm signs: These large signs are ideal for some churches, industrial sites or farms, etc.
1200mm x 1200mm signs: This size is great for prominent positions. Ideal for churches who don’t want the largest size, and private houses who want something bigger than real estate size.
600mm x 900mm signs: Real estate size signs are suitable for any area. The aim is to get as many up as possible in the most prominent locations possible, particularly in high traffic flow areas.
600mm x 450mm lamppost signs: These should be put up 2 - 3 weeks out. Some of these signs can be placed in “cheeky” positions such as on road signs or at motorway on-ramps.
“This Weekend” fluorescent stickers: To be placed in a “slash” format across the signs one week before the Event to alert men that the Event is now imminent.
Posters and brochures: This is not necessarily the task of the signage team alone, but these can be distributed to shops, or other commercial organisations.
