Pastors Testimonies 2006
![]() |
My Personal highlight was that 8 other men from our church came this year. God has done work in our church to have this many come – in the past only 2 or 3 have attended. I praise and thank God for this. I love the practical approach – listen – complete a task. David, Salvation Army Officer |
Attending a Promise Keepers Event gives the men in my church a renewed vision and hunger for God. It helps them face issues in their lives, imparts faith, hope and encouragement. When a group of men from my congregation attend a PK Event they get a vision for serving God and have a desire to meet with men within the church context. These Events inspire men’s ministry within the local church. I think pastors should attend… with the guys in their church because it will help build relationships with the men and show them that men’s ministry is important.
Tak Bhana, West City Christian Centre
Fantastic! I brought a band of guys who hadn’t been before and it was so exciting to see them make a commitment to grow as men in God’s own heart. What a church we will have!
Hamish, Anglican Vicar
I encourage pastors to grab a mate and bring them along to Promise Keepers. It will be a great investment of your time.
Craig Vernall, Bethlehem Baptist Church
Another great time of inspiration and motivation to be the Christian man God intends me to be… I appreciated the Friday “Pastors’ Seminar” too.
David, Lutheran Minister
I would recommend pastors accompany their men to Promise Keepers Events because there is opportunity for an incredible bond to grow between a pastor and his men. From their point of view it demonstrates “the pastor is serious toward me because he made the effort to accompany me here”.
Jim Hurn, Itinerant Preacher and Retired Pastor
As a pastor, it was great to have 6 other guys from our church/parish with me. They were challenged and encouraged to become stronger men in the Lord.
Trevor, Presbyterian Minister
And an example of the impact on a man they brought…
The one thing I found different was this: The first two times were for me to grow. While I found that over time the message was still for me, my focus was not totally on myself. My focus was also on how the message could be used for others such as [men’s small] groups and other aspects of men’s ministry.
