God Will be Faithful to You

One of the principles of the Kingdom of God is, "...commit... to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also".

2 Timothy 2:2 "And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."

Too often this principle is transposed in practice by committing to able men, and then trying to make them faithful. In so doing, we not only pervert meaning, but frustrate the truth.

In transposition we try to find men of ability and then make them faithful. That is done by women in marriage, men in business, preachers in ministry, all with tragic results. It is unwise to trust an unfaithful man, regardless of his talent or ability. His talent cannot compensate for his lack of character.

Ability is built on talent and practice, but character is built on the cornerstone of faithfulness.
All around us we see the wreckage of lives, institutions, and businesses by talented, "able," but unfaithful men. On the other hand, everything of value has been built through someone's faithful efforts.

•  Character undergirds talent.
•  Faithfulness is a mark of maturity.
•  God can be trusted totally.
•  God never varies.
•  God is faithful even when we are faithless.
•  Worries centre on self; faith centres on God.
•  We must read and feed on God's Word.
•  Failure can be the womb of success.
•  Trust is extended to the limit of truth. Jesus is complete Truth, so He can be trusted completely.
•  We need God's perspective.
