FUNDRAISING |
WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO TO STEP UP?
We encourage you to forge friendships by raising funds together for men to be able to experience and participate in the Event.
It is very expensive to hold large Events that meet today’s expectations. Registration fees are set to cover the cost of running New Zealand’s largest Christian Events for men. Also, for men who live outside the cities where Events are held there is the added cost of travel and accommodation.
Sometimes these costs can be difficult, but fundraising activities can often be great team building experiences for your Men’s Ministry.
Plan early to help your men save the funds they need. These are some of the ways you could do it:
| • | Set up a “Fighting Fund”. Some may be able to contribute to assist those who are struggling. From the church pulpit, ask if there are people in the congregation who would be willing to sponsor men to go to Promise Keepers. Could Christian businessmen in your church or community help by making a financial contribution? |
| • | A small sum collected at regular meetings could go into a “Promise Keepers Fund” – i.e. $2 per week at men’s group or take a gold coin offering every time the men get together for activities during the year. |
| • | Plan a local fundraising activity – e.g. selling firewood. Other ideas are: woodcutting, sausage sizzle, clean up projects, garage sale, car wash (get the youth involved). |
| • | Church missions money could be used to pay for not-yet-Christian men to go with the Group. Your local community is a missionfield! |
| • | Brainstorm for other funding ideas. If you come up with any winning ideas, please let us know so we can share them. Click here >> |
Our commitment is that no man will be prevented from coming to the Event because of the cost of the ticket. Please talk to us if you or someone you know is in that situation. Some people donate money to Promise Keepers specifically to assist others. Promise Keepers’ policy is to subsidise the gap between what a man who is experiencing financial difficulties can afford and the registration cost. Some personal cost by the man receiving financial help is important for commitment and ownership of the Event.
