Driver / Transport
| Purpose: To provide as comfortable a transition as possible for Speakers and others to and from the airport, and back and forth between their accommodation and the Event, as needed. |
|
| Commitment Level: Event: 2-4 Days, as required Thurs pm/Fri/Sat/Sun am |
Responsibilities: Work as directed by PK Head Office to transport Speakers & others to and from airport, accommodation and Event, as required. |
| Reports to: PK Head Office |
Works closely with: Speakers, PK Management Team |
| Responsibilities pre-Event: | ||
| 1. | To pick up out-of-town Speakers, MCs, Drama Team and Management Team from the airport, and transport them to their accommodation, and also between accommodation and Event venue as required throughout the weekend. Usually the first arrivals will be on the Thursday night, with more arriving on Friday and Saturday. |
|
Arrival and departure schedules will be supplied from the National Office. Please ensure that if multiple Speakers/MCs/Team are landing at the same time, the vehicle is large enough to take numbers arriving, together with luggage and Event gear. Please ensure you have the cellphone numbers of each of the Speakers/Team on the schedule. Accommodation details will also be sent from the National Office. |
||
| 2. | We strongly recommend a minimum of two men be available to pick up people from the airport. This is so one can go inside the terminal while the other remains in the vehicle without the necessity of finding parking. Also, if there are flight delays, one can remain at the airport to locate late arrivals while the other person can drive any others who have arrived to their accommodation. It is essential that both men have cellphones so they can communicate with each other and also those who are arriving, who may get disorientated or lost in the airport, particularly the larger airports. |
|
If more than one vehicle is required, there should be two people per vehicle, each with a cellphone for communication. |
||
| 3. | It will be helpful for the arriving Speakers/Team for you to have a Promise Keepers sign, so they can recognise who you are. It would also be good to wear a Promise Keepers shirt, if you have one. | |
| Responsibilities during Event: | |
| 1. | Some trips will be required for the Speakers and Team between the motel accommodation and the Event venue throughout the weekend - particularly Friday night after the Event, Saturday morning and Saturday night. |
| 2. | Some Speakers will leave on the Saturday and will require transport from the Event/ accommodation to the airport. |
| Responsibilities post-Event: |
|
| 1 | A number of the Speakers/Team will leave on the Sunday morning and will require transport from their accommodation to the airport. |
